About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Assist the CI manager in all areas of the department, including scheduling and training employees
- Assume CI Assistants’ responsibilities when the CI manager is out of the plant
- Perform and monitor quality checks in all departments to prevent defects
- Determine and manage substandard product and raw materials, including decisions to sell, sort/rework, or scrap
- Enter vendor raw material complaints into SAP
- Manage quality incident investigations to determine root causes and recommend preventive measures
- Oversee sort activities, including establishing sort standards, mentoring and monitoring temporary employees, SAP entries, and housekeeping
- Perform customer and internal sampling requirements
- Manage the quality lab in the Supervisor’s absence, including testing, calibrations, troubleshooting, housekeeping, and training
- Complete COAs and EOM reporting and manage color standards
- Gather data for projects and troubleshooting
- Participate in safety and quality behavior-based observations
- Complete Certificates of Analysis as required by customers
- Generate color standards when requested by customers
- Perform and record quality assurance testing data
- Use SAP to hold finished goods for rework and release them upon completion
- Maintain department integrity through compliance with safety, AIB, and SQF standards
- Check color sample books, compose sample letters, and send copies to sales service
- Retain and rotate color samples in facility inventory
- Perform other organizational duties as required
Requirements
What you’ll need- H.S. education or equivalent
- Advanced EXCEL and SPC knowledge are desired
- CI Inspector and Lead person qualified
- Must have good color vision
- Attention to detail
- Good Communication Skills
- Good attendance
- Ability to work in teams or alone
- Proven track record of identifying opportunities and the ability to recommend and implement improvements
