About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Perform machine maintenance and repair for all plant equipment
- Follow the direction of the Maintenance Manager and efficiently complete work orders
- Install and repair mechanical components of industrial machinery and equipment using manuals, schematic diagrams, blueprints, operations manuals, hand tools, and power tools
- Test malfunctioning machinery using test equipment and discuss malfunctions with machine operators and maintenance workers to diagnose issues
- Analyze equipment problems and perform root cause analysis
- Identify hazards and advise management of dangers associated with operating equipment in its current condition
- Perform basic metal fabrication using a welder
- Follow plant rules, processes, hygiene, and allergen procedures related to producing Safe Quality Foods
- Report potentially unsafe conditions and customer complaints to a person of authority
- Participate in SQF root cause and corrective actions as required
Requirements
What you’ll need- 1-2 years of experience in an Industrial Maintenance Technician position
- Working knowledge of electronics and electrical systems
- Good knowledge of industrial maintenance practices
- Exceptional mechanical inclination
- Knowledge of plant equipment utilized in folding carton manufacturing
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to use computer systems for basic tasks
- Ability to follow safe work practices per company policies, OSHA regulations, and electrical code
- Ability to work from elevated surfaces such as scaffolding, platform lifts, and ladders
- BA degree or related work experience required in lieu of degree
- Ability to perform essential functions satisfactorily, with or without reasonable accommodation
