About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Manage repair and maintenance of manufacturing facilities and equipment
- Install, repair, and maintain mechanical and electronic equipment, tools, and instruments
- Install, repair, and maintain manufacturing facilities infrastructure
- Make/machine replacement tools and parts for manufacturing operations
- Plan and prioritize work orders and schedule repair and maintenance activities to minimize production downtime and disruptions
- Direct, leverage, and guide the work of others and mobilize resources
- Monitor and achieve operational and/or financial results for the area of responsibility
- Hire, terminate, reward, train, and develop employees
- Manage experienced professionals and/or supervisors
- Adapt departmental plans and priorities to meet short-term challenges
- Solve operational problems and advise subordinates on technical issues and schedules
- Interpret and administer policies, processes, and procedures affecting sections and subordinate work units
- Develop and administer schedules and performance requirements; may have budget responsibilities
- Interact with internal personnel and outside representatives
- Participate in and present at internal and external meetings
- Follow plant rules, processes, hygiene, and allergen procedures related to Safe Quality Foods
- Report potentially unsafe conditions and customer complaints
- Participate in SQF root cause and corrective actions
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- 3+ years of Maintenance Manager experience in a manufacturing environment
- Experience leading hourly and salaried maintenance teams and driving employee accountability and performance
- Strong knowledge of preventive maintenance programs, work order management, equipment reliability, and downtime reduction
- Technical expertise in industrial electrical systems, controls, automation, PLCs, and drives strongly preferred
- Experience with facility maintenance, including building infrastructure, HVAC, utilities, and contractor management
- Proficiency with SAP or a similar CMMS, along with Microsoft Excel
- Union manufacturing experience preferred
- Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma experience is a strong plus
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position satisfactorily, with or without a reasonable accommodation
- BA or equivalent + 3 yrs related experience, or MA + 1 yr related experience
