About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Perform machine maintenance and repair for all plant equipment
  • Follow the direction of the Maintenance Manager
  • Complete work orders efficiently
  • Install and repair electrical systems and electrical/electronic components of industrial machinery and equipment
  • Diagnose and replace faulty electrical components on machines and support equipment
  • Perform preventative maintenance, breakdown repairs, and predictive maintenance on production equipment, utilities, buildings, and grounds
  • Occasionally work from elevated surfaces such as booms, scissor lifts, and ladders
  • Identify hazards and advise management of dangers associated with operating equipment in its current condition
  • Work a Monday-Friday day shift
  • Participate in a crew-rotated on-call schedule for nights and weekend coverage

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Ability to follow safe work practices in accordance with company policies, OSHA regulations and electrical code
  • Strong electrical skills
  • Ability to read and understand electrical prints
  • Ability to troubleshoot electrical equipment including AC and DC motors, up to 480v 3 phase systems, motor controlled drive systems, tachometers/encoders, limit switches, relays, oven burner systems, position sensing devices, starters and contacts
  • Proficient in using electrical testing equipment including multimeters, meggers, tone generators, etc.
  • Working knowledge of National Electrical Code
  • Ability to cross reference electrical components for upgrades and replacement of discontinued equipment
  • PLC troubleshooting and programming abilities are a plus
  • IT experience is a plus
  • Understanding of mechanical drawings
  • Ability to use basic industrial shop equipment, hand tools, drills, saws, etc.
  • Basic understanding of hydraulic, pneumatic, and compressed air systems
  • Ability to troubleshoot and replace basic mechanical components such as bearings, cylinders, chains, and couplings
  • Positive attitude
  • 5 years in an industrial maintenance-related field or military equivalent
  • Computer literacy with the ability to learn and perform tasks in SAP
  • Good organization and communication skills
  • Willingness and ability to work overtime
  • Willingness and ability to participate in a crew-rotated on-call schedule for nights and weekend coverage
