About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Complete preventive maintenance on motors, pneumatic circuits, conveyor systems, and production machines
  • Use schematics, blueprints, operations manuals, manufacturer instructions, and engineering specifications
  • Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical machinery using observation and precision measuring and testing instruments
  • Inform production workers of routine preventive maintenance and electrical techniques
  • Monitor compliance to control downtime
  • Fabricate and repair parts using machine shop equipment
  • Test electrical, electronic, and integrated systems or equipment
  • Test electrical assemblies using oscilloscopes and electronic multimeters
  • Use maintenance equipment and supplies efficiently
  • Prepare mechanical and electrical maintenance work reports and historical logs
  • Document and communicate actions, irregularities, and continuing needs
  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment
  • Assist Millwrights with mechanical repairs or complete repairs independently
  • Contribute to team results

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Associates degree in Engineering Technology, Automated Systems, Electronics Electrician or equivalent would be a plus
  • Knowledge of testing, troubleshooting, and servicing all types of electrical equipment including AC and DC drives, PLC's, and associated control networks and I/O
  • Good mechanical skills, including welding, hydraulics and pneumatics
  • Good organizational and communication skills
  • Test, maintain, or calibrate electrical equipment using sound troubleshooting skills and experience
  • Must be able to work nights and weekends up to 12-hour shifts
  • May require overtime, weekend and holiday work
  • Subject to call-ins at any time of day or night
  • Ability to work in noisy, odorous, hot, cold, or otherwise uncomfortable environments
  • Ability to work with hazardous materials, gas pressures, or high voltage and perform heavy lifting as required
  • Follow plant rules, processes, hygiene, and allergen procedures related to Safe Quality Foods
  • Report potentially unsafe conditions and customer complaints to a person of authority
  • Participate in SQF root cause and corrective actions as required
