About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Plan, direct, and monitor production to meet specifications, schedules, volume, cost, wastage, and quality targets
- Liaise with Manufacturing Engineering, Supply & Logistics, Sales, and other functions to develop production schedules and allocate labor and capital resources
- Plan, prioritize, and manage production line maintenance and downtime to minimize disruptions
- Direct, leverage, and guide the work of others and mobilize resources
- Monitor and achieve operational and financial results for the assigned area
- Hire, terminate, reward, train, and develop employees
- Supervise entry-level and experienced professionals and potentially paraprofessional employees
- Set team member goals and objectives
- Support day-to-day team activities and coordinate with other areas to achieve department objectives
- Ensure policies, practices, and procedures are understood and followed
- Develop and administer schedules and performance requirements
- Participate in and present at meetings with internal representatives
- Follow procedures for producing Safe Quality Foods
- Report potentially unsafe SQF conditions or customer complaints
- Participate in SQF root cause and corrective actions from complaints, audits, validation, and verification activities
Requirements
What you’ll need- High School Education or equivalent
- 4 yrs related experience
- Ability to perform essential functions of the position satisfactorily, with or without reasonable accommodation
- Understanding of manufacturing production activities and processes
- Knowledge of production scheduling, labor and capital resource allocation, maintenance/downtime management, quality standards, and cost/wastage targets
- Ability to follow plant rules, processes, hygiene, allergens, and Safe Quality Foods (SQF) procedures
- Ability to report unsafe SQF conditions and customer complaints
- Ability to participate in SQF root cause and corrective actions
- People management and leadership capabilities
- Broad technical expertise and general business understanding
