About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Observe company safety rules and comply with safety practices.
  • Assist in the safe and efficient operation of printers, metalizers, laminators, cutters, gluers, and support equipment.
  • Aid in identifying and resolving process and machine problems.
  • Participate in make-ready preparation for assigned equipment.
  • Prepare necessary reports to accomplish production goals.
  • Perform general housekeeping functions in the assigned area.
  • Maintain compliance with facility food safety, food defense, quality, product safety, GMP, sanitation, SQF, and 5S policies and procedures.
  • Support and participate in LEAN, 5S, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement programs.
  • Understand customer requirements and deliver results meeting or exceeding customer expectations.
  • Stop processes that do not meet food safety or customer quality requirements.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High School Diploma/Equivalent required.
  • At least 6 months of experience with the same or similar equipment is preferred.
  • Must have successfully completed Department Assistant I Checklist.
  • Capable of documenting quality checks required by work center.
  • Frequent/strenuous physical effort (lifting, moving heavy objects, etc.) required.
  • Frequently exposed to conditions involving noise, fumes, and hazardous chemicals.
  • Must be able to work overtime as required.
  • Must follow plant rules, processes, hygiene, allergens, and Safe Quality Foods procedures.
  • Must report potentially unsafe conditions and customer complaints to a person of authority.
  • Must participate in SQF Root Cause and Corrective Actions as required.
