About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Plan, direct, and monitor production to meet specifications, schedules, volume/cost/wastage targets, and quality standards
  • Liaise with Manufacturing Engineering, Supply & Logistics, Sales, and related functions to develop production schedules and allocate labor and capital resources
  • Plan, prioritize, and manage production line maintenance and downtime to minimize disruptions
  • Direct, leverage, and guide the work of others and mobilize resources
  • Monitor and achieve operational and/or financial results for the assigned area
  • Hire, terminate, reward, train, and develop employees
  • Supervise entry-level or semi-skilled hourly production, craft, and clerical employees
  • Coordinate resources and set daily team priorities to achieve task completion and operational objectives
  • Monitor daily operations of a unit or sub-unit
  • Direct work-unit operations and troubleshoot day-to-day technical and operational problems
  • Coordinate with related areas to improve efficiency
  • Follow Safe Quality Food procedures and participate in SQF root cause and corrective actions
  • Report potentially unsafe SQF conditions and customer complaints to an authorized person

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • BA degree or related work experience required in lieu of degree
  • Full knowledge of own area of functional responsibility
  • Understanding and application of established procedures
  • Ability to supervise entry-level or semi-skilled hourly employees
  • Ability to coordinate resources and set daily team priorities
  • Ability to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve day-to-day technical and operational problems
  • Ability to apply operational business practices and coordinate with related areas
  • Ability to follow plant rules, processes, hygiene, and allergen procedures for Safe Quality Foods
  • Ability to report potentially unsafe conditions and customer complaints
  • Ability to participate in SQF root cause and corrective actions
  • Ability to perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation
