About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Manage or assist with managing production activities including assembly, material forming/shaping, processing, treating, and packaging
- Plan, direct, and monitor production to meet specifications, schedules, volume, cost, wastage, and quality targets
- Liaise with Manufacturing Engineering, Supply & Logistics, Sales, and other functions to develop production schedules and allocate labor and capital resources
- Plan, prioritize, and manage production line maintenance and downtime to minimize disruptions
- Direct, leverage, and guide the work of others and mobilize resources
- Monitor and achieve operational and financial results for the assigned area
- Manage hiring, termination, rewarding, training, and employee development actions
- Supervise entry-level or semi-skilled hourly production, craft, and clerical employees
- Coordinate resources and set daily team priorities to meet operational objectives
- Monitor daily operations and troubleshoot day-to-day technical and operational problems
- Apply operational business practices and coordinate with related areas to improve efficiency
- Direct work-unit operations and make decisions affecting work-unit operations
- Follow Safe Quality Food procedures and report unsafe conditions or customer complaints
- Participate in SQF root cause and corrective actions from complaints, audits, validation, and verification activities
Requirements
What you’ll need- BA degree or related work experience required in lieu of degree
- Ability to satisfactorily perform the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation
- Understanding and application of established procedures and full knowledge of own functional area
- Ability to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve day-to-day technical and operational problems
- Ability to follow plant rules, processes, hygiene, and allergen procedures related to Safe Quality Foods
- Ability to participate in SQF root cause and corrective actions
- Ability to report potentially unsafe SQF conditions and customer complaints
