About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Plan, direct, and monitor production to meet specifications, schedules, volume, cost, wastage, and quality targets
- Liaise with Manufacturing Engineering, Supply & Logistics, Sales, and related functions to develop production schedules and allocate labor and capital resources
- Plan, prioritize, and manage production line maintenance and downtime to minimize disruptions
- Direct, guide, and leverage the work of others and mobilize resources
- Monitor operational and/or financial results for the assigned area
- Hire, terminate, reward, train, and develop employees
- Supervise entry-level or semi-skilled hourly production, craft, and clerical employees
- Coordinate resources and set daily team priorities
- Monitor daily operations and direct work-unit operations
- Apply operational business practices and coordinate with related areas to improve efficiency
- Follow Safe Quality Food procedures and report potentially unsafe conditions or customer complaints
- Participate in SQF root cause and corrective actions
Requirements
What you’ll need- BA degree or related work experience required in lieu of degree
- Ability to perform essential functions satisfactorily, with or without reasonable accommodation
- Understanding and application of established procedures
- Full knowledge of own area of functional responsibility
- Ability to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve day-to-day technical and operational problems
- Ability to coordinate resources and set daily priorities
- Ability to supervise entry-level or semi-skilled hourly employees
- Knowledge of Safe Quality Food (SQF) procedures, hygiene, allergens, and plant rules
- Ability to report unsafe food conditions and customer complaints
- Ability to participate in SQF root cause and corrective actions
