About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Safely operate and maintain an Offset Printing Press to manufacture folding cartons
- Perform machine setup, adjustments, and make readies
- Troubleshoot machine and quality issues
- Assist with maintenance and machine setups
- Complete required product and process audits
- Exchange information with shifts before and after the work shift
- Adhere to quality specifications
- Identify product and process enhancements to improve efficiencies and reduce downtime and spoilage
- Meet production schedule output and timeframes
- Lead work crews effectively to meet production goals
- Attend team meetings
- Train new team members
- Maintain a clean and safe work area
- Enforce compliance with company GMP, AIB, and safety policies
- Perform other assigned duties
Requirements
What you’ll need- Must have prior printing experience as either an Operator I or Operator II with related job duties and responsibilities
- In-depth understanding of printing concepts
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- General math skills
- Ability to troubleshoot equipment and quality issues
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. on a regular basis
- Ability to stand/walk up to 12 hours per shift
- Ability to work weekends and holidays
- Visual Color Discrimination — the ability to match or detect differences between colors, including shades of colors
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, as well as within a team
- Post-secondary education in printing technologies a plus
- Must be able to work nights or days on 12-hour mill shifts
