About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Plan, direct, and manage production operations across multiple departments
  • Achieve operating goals and objectives consistent with plant and division objectives
  • Support and assist the Plant Manager in daily facility operations
  • Develop, recommend, and implement operating policies
  • Coordinate and collaborate with all plant departments
  • Establish performance goals, allocate resources, and assess employee performance
  • Lead continuous improvement in safety, quality, and productivity
  • Improve quality, reduce waste, and increase throughput
  • Drive the LEAN Sigma process throughout the facility
  • Improve organization, housekeeping, and raw-material and finished-goods inventory levels
  • Serve as Plant Champion for continual improvement and process change
  • Drive overall plant performance and compliance with quality standards

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business or related field
  • MBA preferred
  • 5–8 years of management/leadership experience in a folding carton packaging industry or similar manufacturing environment, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Foresight, creativity, sense of urgency, and good organizational skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Technical and problem-solving skills
  • Experience in Lean Manufacturing highly desirable
  • Ability to motivate people
  • Quality-conscious and customer-oriented
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Outlook, and Internet skills
  • Ability to facilitate process improvement teams
  • Leadership and project management skills
  • Knowledge of budgets and financial statements
  • Experience managing a non-union environment
