About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Direct and guide manufacturing, engineering, and production processes and teams across the plant
- Monitor and achieve operational and financial results
- Hire, terminate, reward, train, and develop employees
- Manage experienced professionals and/or supervisors
- Head one or more sections or a small department
- Adapt departmental plans and priorities to meet short-term challenges
- Solve operational problems and evaluate diverse situations and data
- Advise subordinates to meet schedules and resolve technical problems
- Integrate the area of responsibility with other departments to achieve objectives
- Interpret and administer policies, processes, and procedures
- Develop and administer schedules and performance requirements
- Participate in and present at internal and external meetings
- Resolve operational and scheduling issues
- Follow plant, hygiene, allergen, and Safe Quality Food procedures
- Report unsafe SQF conditions and customer complaints
- Participate in SQF root cause and corrective actions
Requirements
What you’ll need- BA or equivalent + 3 yrs related experience, or MA + 1 yr related experience
- Ability to perform the essential functions of the position satisfactorily, with or without a reasonable accommodation
- Experience managing experienced professionals and/or supervisors
- Ability to manage two or more direct reports
- Broad technical expertise and understanding of manufacturing operations
- Knowledge of manufacturing engineering, production operations, repair and maintenance, production planning and control, quality, and environmental and employee health and safety
- Ability to interpret and administer policies, processes, and procedures
- Ability to develop and administer schedules and performance requirements
- Ability to interact with internal personnel and outside representatives
- Safe Quality Food (SQF) procedures, hygiene, allergen, audit, root cause, and corrective action knowledge
