About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Assist the 1st Pressman with color or register corrections and press adjustments before production runs
- Run the press during the absence of the 1st Pressman and fulfill 1st Pressman duties in that capacity
- Read job specifications to determine press setup materials needed
- Adjust press machine parts, including feeder and delivery mechanisms, suction grippers, guides, feed wheels, jogging devices, tapes, and cams
- Remove and replace worn rollers and adjust roller pressure using hand tools
- Wash blankets and clean ink and ink-distributing rollers and ink fountains using ink solvent and the press cleaning mechanism
- Assist with press maintenance
- Assist temporary employees with task assignments while reinforcing SQF standards and company core values
- Keep the building clean and orderly
- Complete the plant-wide painting schedule
- Assist in SQF audits while maintaining SQF standards
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- Manufacturing experience required
- 2-5 years relevant experience required
- Excellent attendance
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily
- Ability to work alternate schedules and overtime, including early mornings, nights, and/or weekends
- Punctuality
- Ability to read and follow job specifications
- Ability to use hand tools
- Ability to reinforce SQF standards and Graphic Packaging International’s core values
