About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Assist the Press Operator in operating a multi-unit sheet-fed press safely and achieving product quality and performance goals
- Set up and operate the coating unit
- Troubleshoot and resolve quality and press issues
- Keep Press Department Leads and Manager informed of needed machine repairs
- Respond to Pressman requests during press make ready and monitor press feed during press runs
- Fill press chemicals, load inks, store inks after jobs, and refill process inks on the press shelf as needed
- Dispose of press waste properly and follow environmental responsibilities
- Lead crew when needed
- Remove full AQ/Fountain solution flush water drums to the Non-Hazardous waste staging area
- Learn to achieve and maintain proper ink and water balance
- Assist the pressman with press maintenance
- Perform other duties required to achieve company goals and objectives
Requirements
What you’ll need- Ability to assist in the Operation of a multi-unit Sheet Fed Press
- Ability to set up and operate coating unit
- Ability to troubleshoot Quality and Press Issues and resolve
- Ability to operate hand jack and electric pallet jack
- Ability to operate forklift truck
- Ability to operate aerator
- Understand Job Jacket information
- Complete necessary paperwork
- Demonstrate a level of mechanical aptitude necessary to be successful in the position
- Follow all company safety requirements
- Comply with all company rules and regulations
