About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Perform assigned production duties as directed by management
  • Feed, pack, label, palletize, and operate banding/wrapping and Packsize equipment
  • Lift material into equipment feeders
  • Pack cartons into cases behind gluers or after stripping
  • Inspect cartons and pack only quality products
  • Strip individual cartons from die-cut loads
  • Off-bear cartons from cut loads into separate copies or die positions
  • Prepare cases, layer boards, and labels for jobs
  • Check job tickets or spec books for pallet configurations
  • Stack cartons according to specifications on pallets and verify labels and corrugated alignment
  • Stretch-wrap completed pallets and send them to shipping
  • Scan finished goods and input data into a computer
  • Restock materials for following crews, including lids, corrugated, tape, cases, layer boards, and labels
  • Safely operate electric pallet jacks to move work-in-process or finished pallets
  • Maintain area cleanliness during make-ready
  • Conduct quality audits and sorting operations as required
  • Follow plant, hygiene, allergen, and Safe Quality Food procedures
  • Report potentially unsafe food conditions or customer complaints
  • Participate in SQF root-cause and corrective-action activities as required

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Must be able to work 8 hour shifts plus overtime as required
  • Willingness to work alternate schedules occasionally, including early mornings, nights, and/or weekends
  • Must be punctual while working alternate schedules
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
  • Ability to write simple correspondence
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations
  • Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and multiply and divide with 10's and 100's
  • Ability to perform calculations using American money and weight, volume, and distance measurements
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions
  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations
  • Ability to wear required PPE, including safety shoes, safety glasses, and hearing protection
  • Specific vision ability: color vision
  • Frequent physical activities including standing, walking, stair climbing, kneeling, crouching, bending, and hand coordination
  • Ability to frequently push/pull and lift 15 lbs., and occasionally 30–40 lbs.
