About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Ensure efficient scheduling and coordinate materials, people, and equipment to produce and deliver quality cartons on time
- Manage inventory flow throughout the manufacturing operation
- Control costs to meet annual budget requirements
- Maintain and control finished goods and raw material inventories
- Interact with Customer Service and Sales regarding incoming orders
- Lead Shipping/Receiving and Production Control Administrative employees
- Communicate with the Plant Manager regarding equipment and materials needed to run products
- Resolve customer scheduling issues
- Ensure production schedules meet customer shipment needs
- Maintain corporate goals for NLF, COV, and safety
- Work with Accounting to evaluate manufacturing-process variances
- Support Six Sigma projects
- Ensure compliance with food safety, food defense, quality, product safety, GMP, sanitation, SQF/5S, and company standards
- Support and participate in LEAN, 5S, Six Sigma, and Continuous Improvement programs
- Serve as Quality Mode Element co-owner for Supplier Management with the CI Manager
- Understand customer requirements and meet or exceed customer expectations
- Stop processes that do not meet food safety requirements
- Serve as backup to the Plant Manager
- Participate in SQF root cause and corrective actions
Requirements
What you’ll need- BA degree in Business Management or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience within folding carton industry or equivalent combination of education and experience
- BA degree or related work experience required in lieu of degree
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient computer skills in MS Office
- Superior management/leadership skills
- Excellent organizational skills
- Ability to perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation
- Must follow plant rules, processes, hygiene, and allergen procedures related to Safe Quality Foods
- Must report potentially unsafe conditions and customer complaints related to SQF
- Must participate in SQF root cause and corrective actions as required
