About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Manage paperboard procurement activities for production
- Minimize paperboard working capital by coordinating material procurement for a just-in-time production schedule
- Use MRP to identify paperboard needs, enter purchase orders, and follow up with suppliers on deliveries
- Escalate paperboard needs with the Corporate Material Supply Team
- Create sheeter work order instructions for the plant
- Ensure raw material inventory accuracy and resolve inventory discrepancies with the plant IPR
- Contact suppliers daily regarding material delivery status as schedules and customer demand change
- Communicate regarding paperboard transportation and delivery
- Partner with Production Departments and Scheduling to maximize equipment runs
- Identify obsolete, overage, and unallocated paperboard and coordinate its use or removal
- Maintain inventory levels for favorable working capital impact and communicate with plant management and Finance
- Coordinate with Continuous Improvement on material quality issues and corrective actions
- Coordinate paperboard timing with internal customer service representatives
- Participate in new and transfer business meetings
- Follow Safe Quality Food procedures and participate in SQF root cause and corrective actions
Requirements
What you’ll need- Excellent team player with strong analytical skills and problem-solving aptitude
- Ability to utilize MRP to identify paperboard needs and enter purchase orders
- Ability to coordinate material procurement for just-in-time production
- Ability to ensure raw material inventory accuracy and resolve discrepancies
- Ability to communicate with suppliers, internal teams, transportation resources, customer service, plant management, Finance, and Continuous Improvement
- Ability to follow plant rules, processes, hygiene, allergens, and Safe Quality Food procedures
- Ability to report unsafe food conditions and customer complaints
- Ability to participate in SQF root cause and corrective actions
