About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Ensure compliance with financial transaction recording standards, including general ledger, cash payments/collections, and tax transactions
Control and reconcile accounts and records, including balance sheet, P&L, and bank accounts
Prepare accounting reports and schedules for internal and external audiences
Consolidate financial statements and report cash flow and budgets
Perform cost accounting and budgeting, including cost allocation, variance analysis, and budget preparation
Support accounts payable/receivable and credit and collections activities as applicable
Achieve results through individual work and participation in teams
Mentor, coach, and/or train less experienced co-workers
Develop solutions to complex accounting problems
Improve products and services using best practices and business knowledge
Participate in determining assignment objectives and represent the organization on programs or projects
Coordinate with senior internal and external personnel across organizations
Follow and support Safe Quality Food procedures and corrective actions

Requirements

What you’ll need

BA or equivalent + 6 years related experience, or MA + 4 years related experience
Postsecondary degree and on-the-job training
Functional knowledge and conceptual and practical expertise in accounting
Basic knowledge of related disciplines
Growing knowledge of industry practices
Ability to develop solutions to complex problems and evaluate identifiable factors
Ability to use best practices and internal/external business issues to improve products and services
Good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for solutions
Ability to work under general direction and plan, schedule, and arrange own activities
Ability to interact with senior internal and external personnel and coordinate between organizations
Ability to perform essential functions satisfactorily, with or without reasonable accommodation
Follow plant rules, processes, hygiene, allergens, and SQF procedures
Report potentially unsafe food or SQF conditions and customer complaints
Participate in SQF root cause and corrective actions
