About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Read schedules and set up the machine and unwind station for each production run
  • Manage the poly resin waste (poly pans) process
  • Bundle waste paper
  • Prepare rolls for cutover processes to ensure machine productivity
  • Participate in machine setup
  • Monitor the machine during production
  • Follow directives from the operator
  • Perform general housekeeping in designated or assigned areas
  • Apply schedule information to production requirements
  • Support departmental goals in safety, productivity, quality, and continuous improvement
  • Identify problems, determine root cause, and assist with resolution
  • Follow safety policies and procedures
  • Complete all required paperwork
  • Follow Safe Quality Foods (SQF) procedures and report potentially unsafe conditions or customer complaints

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Good written and oral communication skills
  • Computer knowledge
  • Must be able to work rotating shifts
  • Frequent strenuous/physical effort (lifting, moving heavy objects, etc.)
  • Be able to work in an environment with conditions involving noise, heat, etc.
  • Mechanical aptitude
  • Ability to drive PIV
  • Problem solving skills
  • Works well in a team environment
  • Previous manufacturing experience preferred
  • Paper, laminating and extrusion experience a plus
