About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Unload and deliver materials necessary for manufacturing needs
  • Record and warehouse raw materials and in-process materials for future use
  • Perform all duties in a safe and orderly manner
  • Participate in the SBO process, safety meetings, and safety tours
  • Ensure production and distribution of products consistent with established food safety, sanitation, and quality standards
  • Deliver raw or in-process materials to production areas
  • Document transactions between production and warehouse
  • Operate RF units
  • Store materials in designated storage areas according to designated storage patterns
  • Consolidate product in the warehouse to ensure sufficient space
  • Unload, warehouse, and document inbound shipments
  • Load and document outbound shipments
  • Keep assigned areas clean and orderly
  • Help reconcile inventory problems
  • Notify supervisors or group leaders of damaged shipments
  • Inspect truck areas using the forklift check sheet and report problems
  • Shuttle materials from the outside warehouse for production needs
  • Operate powered industrial trucks, baler machines, and tape sealing machines
  • Fill propane tanks as assigned
  • Remove snow
  • Instruct and train other operators once qualified
  • Assist in other areas or perform other assigned duties

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Ability to successfully complete written and driving examination required to obtain Powered Industrial Truck (PIT) operator license
  • Demonstrated organizational skills and detail orientation
  • Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision
  • Ability to follow verbal or written instructions
  • Ability to perform the essential physical functions of the position, with or without accommodation
  • Sitting, walking or standing for extended periods of time, up to 12-hours
  • Occasional lifting up to 25 lbs.
  • Visual acuity and depth perception necessary to operate PIT equipment and read computer screens or other electronic devices
  • Ability to work in various temperatures and humidity levels
  • Ability to fulfill overtime requirements necessary to ensure production and distribution requirements are met
