About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Perform clerical duties required in shipping and receiving.
- Compile records concerning production, shipping, and receiving activities.
- Perform duties safely and participate in safety meetings and tours.
- Ensure production and distribution comply with food safety, sanitation, and quality standards.
- Enter data, generate reports, and enter conveyor schedules via computer.
- Verify inventory transactions and adjustments using RF equipment.
- Schedule truck pickup and delivery appointments and communicate appointment times to carriers.
- Update QAD with appointments.
- Coordinate incoming trucks to the correct dock or yard.
- Receive inbound product against purchase orders.
- Generate bills of lading for outgoing shipments.
- Maintain the dock board with trailer locations.
- Prepare date labels and file transportation documents.
- Perform cycle counts and month-end packaging inventory.
- Analyze transaction reports to determine root causes of discrepancies.
- Assist drivers with issue and receipt entry, transfers, and cycle counting.
- Audit locations for negative quantities.
- Maintain item types, class codes, and item descriptions in QAD.
- Conduct product recalls using QAD transactions.
- Maintain accuracy on promotional items.
- Develop proficiency in other clerk duties and provide support when necessary.
- Maintain clean and orderly work areas.
- Fulfill overtime requirements as necessary to meet transportation requirements.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Strong computer skills with experience with various programs, such as email, and MS Office applications.
- Organizational skills and detail orientation.
- Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision.
- Ability to follow verbal or written instructions.
- Must be able to read, write, and speak English fluently.
- Successful completion of the interview.
- Ability to perform the essential physical functions of the position, with or without accommodation, including walking, standing or sitting for extended periods; visual acuity and depth perception necessary to read computer screens or other electronic devices; and working in various temperatures and humidity levels.
- Follow all Plant rules, Processes, Hygiene, and Allergens procedures related to production of Safe Quality Foods.
- Report potentially unsafe conditions or customer complaints to a person of authority.
- Participate in SQF Root Cause and Corrective Actions as required.
- Follow all procedures related to producing Safe Quality Foods (SQF).
