About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Develop and establish a book of new business from relationships across the Private Equity, Venture Capital, and Emerging Manager community
  • Contribute to deposit and loan growth across lending activities, including negotiating, underwriting, and coordinating the closing of complex company loans
  • Execute business development strategies and tactics within the Private Equity, Venture Capital, and Emerging Manager community
  • Position and structure loans across the full Fund Finance product suite
  • Build relationships with referral sources and target funds to promote and sell Fund Banking products and services
  • Develop and maintain a robust pipeline of opportunities
  • Use Salesforce and other CRM tools to track business development activities, deal activities, and investor calls
  • Lead initial sales and engagement calls with prospective clients
  • Request information related to loan requests and guide prospective clients through due diligence and underwriting with a credit associate
  • Analyze financial condition and perform initial risk assessments within Bank credit policies and current economic and industry trends
  • Gather information for financing recommendations to Credit Committee and negotiate loan terms and conditions
  • Coordinate closing of approved loans and ensure compliance with loan agreements, client needs, and Bank lending policies
  • Serve as primary Relationship Manager after loan closing and manage ongoing client relationship plans
  • Partner with loan operations, client services, and other internal teams to ensure a client-first experience
  • Escalate product and service issues to senior management
  • Maintain knowledge of Fund Banking industry status, trends, and competitive landscape
  • Represent the Bank at community and industry functions to enhance the Bank’s image and develop additional business
  • Assist the Bank in establishing and maintaining market position

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 5 to 10 years of experience with a strong Fund Finance background, including origination, negotiation, underwriting, and coordinating the closing of Fund Finance loans
  • Extensive experience in relationship management of high-value clients
  • Knowledge and experience in financial statement and tax return analysis
  • Deep knowledge of Fund documentation
  • Demonstrated ability to use generative AI tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, and Copilot for partner due diligence, document review, analysis, and drafting, while checking output accuracy
  • Ability to use AI responsibly in a regulated environment, including protecting customer data and managing privacy and model risk
  • Ability to judge how fintech partners use AI in onboarding, fraud, and customer service
  • Strong understanding of Bank treasury management services, lending procedures, policies, and products and services used by Fund Banking clients
  • Knowledge of related state and federal banking compliance regulations, preferably OCC experience
  • Knowledge of Bank operational policies
  • Strong experience collaborating with internal and external stakeholders
  • Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university in Finance, Accounting, or a related field
  • Exceptional analytical skills
