About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Prepare advanced statutory financial statements, corporation tax computations, and other compliance deliverables
  • Review complex and straightforward accounts and tax returns prepared by offshore teams
  • Ensure compliance with UK GAAP with minimal supervision
  • Understand clients’ businesses and provide tailored service
  • Identify value-added opportunities for manager review
  • Draft solutions for technical issues for Manager or Associate Director approval
  • Complete work within deadlines and budgets, flagging issues early
  • Update system workflows and act on feedback to improve quality and reduce review points
  • Review accounts and tax files prepared by Senior Associates, Associates, and offshore teams
  • Liaise with clients to obtain information and assist in client meetings
  • Support business development through LinkedIn and marketing engagement
  • Identify referral opportunities
  • Support training and development of team members

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Ideally a minimum of 3 years’ experience working in practice
  • Typically ACA or ACCA qualified
  • Proficient in Xero, Sage 50 Accounts, QuickBooks, Excel, and other accounting and tax software
  • Committed to completing relevant Continuing Professional Development (CPD)
  • Confident verbal communicator, adapting style for different audiences
  • Excellent written communication
  • Problem-solving ability using logical, established methods
  • Ability to adapt flexibly and professionally to change
  • Organised and thorough approach to work
  • Good technical knowledge of statutory accounts and corporation tax compliance
  • Knowledge of UK GAAP
  • Ability to work with sole traders, partnerships, LLPs, and limited companies
