About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Develop new features end-to-end from design to implementation
Build APIs, frontend interfaces, and visualizations
Build UI experiences for AI-related products, including AI Gateway management, agent monitoring, and MCP configuration interfaces
Contribute to Gravitee’s open-source platform and Enterprise Edition
Use LLMs and AI coding assistants for prototyping, code generation, testing, and debugging
Write automated tests and use AI-assisted testing tools where appropriate
Validate and refine AI-generated outputs using sound engineering judgment
Collaborate with engineers and technical leaders to identify solutions
Support colleagues through code and design reviews
Contribute ideas for AI-powered features and API-management capabilities

Requirements

What you’ll need

8+ years of professional software engineering experience, with significant experience building full-stack enterprise web applications
Strong hands-on experience with Java 17+ and React
Genuine full-stack experience across backend and frontend development
Strong experience designing, developing, and working with REST/RESTful APIs
Experience with MongoDB, JDBC, or other relational/database technologies
Solid understanding of backend architecture, API design, and modern software engineering principles
Experience with database technologies and data modelling
Strong code-review skills and ownership of code quality
Ability to understand existing architecture and assess the wider impact of code changes
Experience with automated testing, Git/GitHub workflows, and agile software development
Hands-on experience using LLMs and AI coding assistants such as Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, or similar
Ability to validate, correct, and improve AI-generated code
Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
Curious, adaptable mindset and ability to learn unfamiliar areas of a complex technical platform
Experience with Angular, Vert.x, API management, Docker, Kubernetes, Kafka/event streaming, OAuth2/OpenID Connect, AI-powered products, LLM applications, RAG systems, agentic workflows, MCP, AI gateways, or relevant technical certifications are desirable but not required
