About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Develop, update, and monitor job progress using the QMS program
  • Schedule, estimate, and budget projects to keep construction aligned with schedules
  • Perform quantity takeoffs, cost estimates, and bid solicitations
  • Research options and regulatory information as required
  • Purchase and coordinate delivery of project materials while ensuring price, quality, specifications, and budget compliance
  • Review and approve invoices and change orders
  • Negotiate with subcontractors and vendors for specific trades
  • Review vendor and subcontractor shop drawing submittals as directed
  • Relocate to specific job sites when required to learn procurement and construction practices
  • Attend weekly job site meetings
  • Prepare project reports, including monthly red files, progress analyses/schedules, billings, and status reports
  • Organize and maintain job files
  • Submit verbal and written project status reports to the supervisor
  • Communicate with customers, consultants, and subcontractors
  • Communicate, implement, and enforce Gray’s safety program on site
  • Indirectly supervise subcontractors and field personnel
  • Perform other assigned duties

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university
  • Minimum of three years related experience
  • Basic computer skills, including word processing, spreadsheet, and email applications
  • Working knowledge of scheduling applications may be required
  • Energetic, self-motivated, and collaborative approach
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Ability to communicate effectively with customers, consultants, subcontractors, and supervisors
  • Ability to relocate to specific job sites if required
  • Ability to attend weekly job site meetings
  • Ability to frequently stand, walk, sit, use hands and arms, reach, and talk or hear
  • Ability to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, or crouch
  • Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 25 lbs and occasionally lift or move up to 100 lbs
  • Accurate near and distant vision
  • Ability to work in office and construction-site environments, including exposure to weather, noise, mechanical parts, fumes, extreme temperatures, electrical shock, explosives, and vibrations
