About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Study specifications to assist construction planning based on start and completion times and staffing requirements
- Assist the MEP Project Manager with locating and evaluating subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers
- Develop scopes of work, MEP project schedules, estimates, and pricing
- Solicit subcontractor/vendor/supplier prices and assist with bidder selection and final-price negotiation
- Draft subcontracts and purchase orders for review and approval
- Prepare cost-to-complete, monthly billing, status, progress, materials, and cost reports
- Review and maintain current field sets of P&IDs, mechanical, electrical, shop, architectural, and structural drawings
- Assist with pricing work, drafting changes, and change orders
- Coordinate and manage on-site construction activities from pre-start-up through completion
- Schedule subcontractors and determine required materials, equipment, tools, and supply sources
- Set up and close out construction sites
- Serve as on-site Safety Officer when one is not assigned and participate in the QMS safety program
- Procure tools and materials for scheduled delivery
- Direct supervisory personnel and subcontractors in planning and executing work, interpreting specifications, and coordinating construction phases
- Resolve workforce complaints and grievances with supervisory personnel
- Adjust work schedules based on reports and MEP Project Manager direction
- Establish and maintain safety and quality standards
- Implement, maintain, and generate reports for Gray’s QMS program and continuous improvement
- Communicate, implement, and enforce Gray’s on-site safety program
- Manage multiple subordinate team members and indirectly manage subcontractors, consultants, and general laborers
Requirements
What you’ll need- Associate's degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; and a minimum five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Basic computer skills, including word processing, spreadsheet, and email applications
- Must be able to travel to project sites throughout the United States and, in some cases, outside the U.S.
- Selected candidate can live anywhere in the USA
- This role is not eligible for visa sponsorship
- Ability to perform required physical duties, including frequently lifting/moving up to 25 lbs and occasionally up to 100 lbs
- Ability to work in outdoor, wet/humid, noisy, hazardous, and variable-temperature conditions
- Overtime may be required
