About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Assist the Site Manager with layout of structural, civil, process, and architectural building items
- Assist with procurement of construction materials
- Execute purchase orders, monitor deliveries, and complete receiving reports
- Perform on-site material placement surveys and report quantities weekly or as directed
- Assist with scheduling construction activities and monitoring material deliveries and subcontractor performance
- Develop bid lists, issue procurement documents, review bids, and evaluate proposals after two to six months
- Help establish and maintain safety and QA/QC standards and conduct safety meetings
- Review, assimilate, and log shop drawings and submittals
- Maintain red-line as-built drawings and update construction documents
- Manage the jobsite in the Site Manager's absence
- Perform and record QA/QC audits and follow up on corrective actions
- Assist with daily reports and monthly man-hour reports
- Make on-the-spot safety and quality decisions and escalate out-of-specification issues
- Enforce Gray's safety program and serve as on-site safety representative when needed
- Investigate safety incidents and prepare accurate reports
- Coordinate with city officials, OSHA, and inspectors; schedule and document inspections
- Assume ownership of assigned scopes of work and manage subcontractors
- Maintain daily progress drawings using Bluebeam, Excel, or Assemble
- Generate agendas and minutes for site meetings and distribute them accurately and promptly
- Communicate customer-requested changes to the Site Manager and Project Manager
Requirements
What you’ll need- Associate's degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school and a minimum of 2 years of related construction experience OR 4+ years of relevant construction experience in lieu of a degree
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, tablets, and smartphones
- Strong work ethic
- Energetic, self-motivated individual who enjoys a team environment
- Passion for collaboration and professional development
- Ability to travel to project sites throughout the United States and, in some cases, outside the U.S.
- Must be able to live anywhere in the USA
- Must be willing to work overtime when required
- Must be able to perform the listed physical demands, including lifting up to 25 lbs frequently and up to 100 lbs occasionally
