About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Take ownership of all field activities from project startup through completion
  • Manage project safety, quality, schedule, planning, jobsite logistics, on-site management teams, subcontractor coordination, and risk assessment
  • Maintain the overall project schedule and create task-specific two- to three-week lookaheads
  • Provide real-time schedule data to the Project Manager/Scheduler
  • Ensure site safety requirements are met and stop work when safety infractions are found
  • Train project team members on Gray software, including CMO, Navisworks, Bluebeam, Concur, E-Time, and GoGray
  • Conduct site and weekly meetings to coordinate subcontractor activities
  • Prepare monthly reports covering safety, schedule, subcontractor performance, quality, budget, and customer relations
  • Collaborate with the Project Manager team on subcontract buyout and procurement scheduling
  • Lead, teach, coach, and train subordinate team members
  • Establish and manage the jobsite safety culture
  • Mentor team members and hold the site team accountable for company policies and procedures
  • Set up and close out construction sites
  • Walk the project daily to verify safe, quality, and on-schedule work
  • Communicate project information to project managers, design managers, customers, site teams, subcontractors, and field operations
  • Review and coordinate architectural, structural, and shop drawings
  • Study project documents to ensure construction follows plans, specifications, and contracts
  • Review project budgets and assess site-team impacts on financials
  • Assist with scopes of work, subcontractor/vendor evaluation, reports, billing, cost-to-complete, and status reporting
  • Implement project closeout and punch-list procedures
  • Manage overall project-team coordination, buyout, procurement, schedule, and closeout
  • May lead multiple subordinate supervisors and support staff, including interviewing, hiring, training, assigning work, appraising performance, and resolving problems

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Minimum of 10+ years related construction experience
  • Experience with overall responsibility for field activities on project sites preferred
  • Leadership ability to manage and direct on-site project teams
  • Ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings, financial reports, and legal/contract documents
  • Strong people management skills
  • Basic computer skills, including word processing, spreadsheet, and email applications
  • Skills in Bluebeam, Microsoft Excel, and SharePoint
  • Must be able to frequently lift and/or move up to 25 lbs and occasionally lift or move up to 100 lbs
  • Ability to work in wet/humid conditions, around moving mechanical parts, outside weather, high places, fumes, extreme temperatures, electrical hazards, explosives, and vibration
  • Overtime may be required
