About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Own all field activities from project startup through completion
- Manage project safety, quality, schedule, planning, jobsite logistics, on-site management, subcontractor coordination, and risk assessment
- Maintain the overall project schedule and create task-specific two- to three-week lookaheads
- Provide real-time schedule data to the Project Manager/Scheduler
- Enforce site safety requirements and stop work when violations are found
- Train project team members on Gray software including CMO, Navisworks, Bluebeam, Concur, E-Time, and GoGray
- Conduct site and weekly meetings to coordinate subcontractor activities
- Prepare monthly reports covering safety, schedule, subcontractor performance, quality, budget, and customer relations
- Collaborate with the Project Manager team on subcontract buyout and procurement scheduling
- Lead, teach, coach, and mentor project team members and subordinates
- Establish and manage the jobsite safety culture
- Set up and close out construction sites
- Walk projects daily to verify safe, quality-compliant, on-schedule work
- Communicate project information to project, design, customer, site, subcontractor, and field operations teams
- Review and coordinate architectural, structural, shop, and other drawings
- Ensure construction complies with plans, specifications, and contract requirements
- Review project budgets and monitor site-team impacts on financials
- Assist with scopes of work, subcontractor/vendor evaluation, reports, billings, closeout, and punch lists
- Manage project-team coordination, buyout, procurement, schedule, and closeout
- Supervise subordinate supervisors and support staff, including hiring, training, assigning work, performance appraisal, discipline, and problem resolution
Requirements
What you’ll need- Minimum of 10+ years related construction experience
- Experience with overall responsibility for field activities on project sites preferred
- Demonstrated leadership abilities to manage and direct on-site project teams
- Ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings, financial reports, and legal/contract documents
- Strong people management skills
- Basic computer skills, including word processing, spreadsheet, and email applications
- Skills in Bluebeam, Microsoft Excel, and SharePoint
- Must be able to frequently lift/move up to 25 lbs and occasionally up to 100 lbs
- Ability to work in outdoor, wet/humid, noisy, and physically demanding environments
- Must be able to work overtime when required
