About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Enforce OSHA and company safety equipment and clothing requirements
  • Ensure project-site compliance with company safety requirements
  • Maintain appropriate safety records
  • Keep work areas neat, safe, and orderly
  • Investigate incidents and complete required reports
  • Assist the Site Manager with administrative counseling for non-compliant team members and subcontractors
  • Conduct safety meetings and jobsite reviews as part of coordination meetings
  • Conduct daily safety meetings
  • Conduct orientation and jobsite-specific training
  • Communicate, implement, and enforce Gray’s safety program on site
  • Indirectly manage subcontractor safety personnel
  • Perform other assigned duties

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field OR 5+ years of related experience in lieu of a degree
  • OSHA 30 Hour card
  • Experience in an industrial construction environment is highly preferred
  • Demonstrated knowledge of safety/environmental principles and techniques
  • Basic computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office suite programs
  • Ability to communicate well both verbally and in writing
  • Must be able to travel to project sites throughout the United States and, in some cases, outside the U.S.
  • Selected candidate can live anywhere in the USA
  • This role is not eligible for visa sponsorship
  • Ability to meet physical demands, including frequently lifting/moving up to 25 lbs and occasionally up to 100 lbs
  • Ability to work in wet/humid conditions, around moving mechanical parts, outside weather, heights, fumes, extreme temperatures, electrical hazards, explosives, vibration, and moderate to loud noise
  • Overtime may be required
