About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead the delivery of maintenance activities across water treatment plants, recycled water facilities and network assets
- Drive continuous improvement of asset management plans, maintenance strategies and asset reliability programs
- Manage operational and capital expenditure budgets, ensuring efficient and cost-effective program delivery
- Lead and develop a high-performing team through coaching, capability development and performance leadership
- Build relationships with contractors, delivery partners, authorities and internal stakeholders
- Champion a proactive safety culture and ensure compliance with HSEQ, legislative and regulatory obligations
- Provide strategic and operational leadership across maintenance activities for treatment plants, network assets, sewer and water pump stations, and planned maintenance programs
- Support service delivery outcomes while maintaining focus on safety, performance and continuous improvement
Requirements
What you’ll need- Proven leadership experience managing maintenance, operational or asset management teams in utilities, infrastructure or asset-intensive environments
- Strong experience in water, wastewater, treatment plant or mechanical and electrical asset maintenance
- Demonstrated experience managing operational and capital budgets and delivering maintenance programs
- Strong knowledge of asset management, risk management and continuous improvement principles
- Excellent stakeholder engagement, relationship management and influencing skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capability, with the ability to manage complex operational issues and competing priorities
- Tertiary qualification in Engineering or a related discipline; or significant relevant experience in water, wastewater or asset management environments
- Successful candidate must complete reference checks, medical assessments, a national police check, verification of working rights in Australia, and additional security clearance checks
