About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Strategically plan, optimize, and lead the entire supply chain for battery energy storage solutions
- Lead and develop the battery energy storage supply chain team
- Develop and implement supply chain strategies for battery energy storage projects
- Manage strategic and operational procurement
- Ensure the on-time delivery of key components and systems while balancing cost, quality, and project requirements
- Build, manage, and develop strategic supplier relationships worldwide, particularly in Asia
- Lead contract and price negotiations with manufacturers and technology partners
- Analyze and continuously optimize procurement and cost structures
- Identify and implement sustainable cost-reduction opportunities
- Ensure compliance with quality standards, regulatory requirements, and sustainability targets
- Analyze and assess market trends, technological developments, and global supply chain challenges
- Identify supply chain risks and develop measures to minimize supply shortages and disruptions
- Collaborate with project management, engineering, and senior management
- Align procurement strategies, technical requirements, and project timelines
- Conduct cost-benefit analyses and assess the financial impact of procurement decisions
- Prepare and present regular reports and KPIs on supply chain performance to senior management and investors
- About green flexibility: Planning, developing, and operating large-scale battery energy storage systems across Europe
Requirements
What you’ll need- Completed degree in business administration, engineering, logistics, supply chain management, or a comparable field
- Ideally, at least 7 years of professional experience in supply chain management
- Ideally, at least 3 years of experience in a leadership position
- Ideally, experience in battery energy storage, renewable energy, or related technologies
- Strong knowledge of strategic procurement, supplier management, logistics processes, and cost optimization
- Good understanding of the specific requirements of the battery energy storage sector
- Extensive experience collaborating and negotiating with international suppliers and manufacturers, ideally with a focus on the Asian market, particularly China
- Excellent analytical and strategic skills
- Ability to assess complex challenges and develop commercially viable solutions
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Business-fluent German and English
- Experience working with ERP systems and supply chain software solutions
- Ideally, experience implementing and optimizing ERP and supply chain software solutions
- Passion for sustainable technologies and the future of energy storage
