About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Educate, assist, and advocate for families facing lead and other environmental health hazards in their homes
  • Help tenants send written Notices of Defect to rental property owners
  • Coordinate enforcement actions with City and State agencies
  • Facilitate client resource referrals
  • Conduct in-home and virtual visits to educate tenants on tenant rights, lead poisoning prevention, asthma, and home-based environmental health hazards
  • Provide case management support to improve housing stability, energy security, and health, educational, and social outcomes
  • Help lead-affected families relocate to lead-safe housing and coordinate relocation resources
  • Serve as a liaison between families and appropriate agencies
  • Assist eligible Baltimore City families with lead-preference Housing Choice Vouchers
  • Track voucher recipients and provide resources and follow-up assistance
  • Coordinate the CDBG-funded Relocation Assistance Grant Program
  • Conduct Green & Healthy Homes trainings and presentations
  • Report data in the ETO Client Database
  • Maintain internal weekly project reporting
  • Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual reports to funding agencies
  • Participate in team meetings, outreach, and community education activities
  • Provide research, analysis, and recommendations on policy and program best practices

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's or Associate's Degree in public health, environmental science, social work or related field
  • Two years of experience in non-profit, public or private agency client case management or client services logistics coordination
  • Strong written and oral presentation skills
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast paced environment, prioritize tasks, and follow projects to completion on schedule
  • Attention to detail
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Flexibility, initiative, and a collaborative spirit
  • Strong work ethic
  • Desire to work in a team environment
  • Ready access to a motor vehicle
  • Valid motor vehicle operator's license in the State of Maryland
  • Required auto insurance
