About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Identify, implement, and manage cross-setting quality improvement strategies in hospital, nursing home, and physician practice settings
  • Provide technical assistance in workflow redesign, team building, communication skills, and emergency preparedness
  • Support implementation and monitoring of evidence-based behavioral health interventions, trauma-informed care, and workplace resiliency
  • Collaborate with healthcare and community-based organizations to improve transitions of care for individuals with behavioral health diagnoses
  • Recruit and engage providers, community organizations, faith-based groups, community centers, human service agencies, leaders, media, consultants, educational institutions, and Medicare beneficiaries in collaborative partnerships
  • Develop and present instructional curricula and content for instructor-led and self-paced learning modules
  • Incorporate participant feedback and adult learning principles into emergency preparedness and quality improvement content
  • Serve as a mentor or resource to HCQIP staff
  • Provide technical assistance to enrolled providers with Quality Improvement Advisors
  • Complete and submit behavioral health internal reports and required CMS documentation on time
  • Present intervention results to CMS, providers, management, staff, and large-group conferences
  • Assess training and information needs and coordinate educational efforts
  • Design performance-monitoring reports with the HCQIP data analyst and Behavioral Health Aim Lead
  • Attend regional conferences, department meetings, and professional education meetings

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in a healthcare-related field
  • At least three (3) years of experience working in a healthcare-related field
  • At least one (1) year of experience in quality improvement
  • Occasional travel within New York may be required for onsite provider visits or in-person meetings, no more than once per quarter
  • Experience or knowledge relevant to behavioral health quality improvement, stakeholder engagement, healthcare emergency preparedness, evidence-based behavioral health interventions, trauma-informed care, and workplace resiliency
