About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Build new experiences for the Greenlight website
Work with domain teams, product managers, and designers to bring Greenlight mobile application experiences to the web
Support all web development within Greenlight as part of the web core team
Provide mentorship and support for web teams
Define standards, best practices, and technology choices
Quickly deliver web products as part of a strong team
Add incremental features while balancing new features and technical debt
Scale and maintain backend services to support feature requests and a growing user base
Improve the reliability and availability of the platform supporting families and partners
Build core Greenlight functionality for the web
Build common libraries and mentor other web developers
Contribute to backend services as required to accomplish team deliverables
Report to a Senior Director, Engineering

Requirements

What you’ll need

BS degree in Computer Science or equivalent
6+ years software development experience
Ability to context switch frequently in a fast-paced environment
Eye towards performance, scalability, and observability
Experience building single page applications using a modern framework
Experience building REST APIs
Recent experience building backend services using Node.js
Understanding of the build/measure/learn process and lean startup skills
Experience with Node.js, React, NextJS, Remix, REST, Express, AWS, and Kubernetes (EKS)
Kotlin experience preferred
Experience with A/B testing and experimentation preferred
Experience with modern MarTech tools such as Segment, Optimizely, and Mixpanel preferred
