About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Sort recyclables and trash to minimize contamination and maintain high recyclable rates
Follow company and OSHA safety procedures
Extract 25–48 items per minute, depending on the operation location
Follow directions, daily procedures, and protocols
Work near others while sorting material from either side of the conveyor belt
Handle and transport materials and equipment
Assist with litter control, routine maintenance, housekeeping, and other onsite projects
Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need

Proof of authorization to be employed in the U.S.
Proficiency in English and/or Spanish
Ability to distinguish between commodities with ease in order separate the material properly
Reliable transportation
Punctual and reliable work habits
Ability to work as a team and work well with others
Ability to handle material weighing up to 40 lbs
Ability to stand and collect material for extended periods of time in front of a conveyor belt
Good manual dexterity and hand/eye coordination
Ability to perform constant pushing, pulling, reaching, bending, and grasping
Ability to go up and down stairs to reach certain workstations
Ability to work in exposure to loud noises, heat, cold, sharp objects, and odors
Ability to work variable shifts of 4–12 hours
Required to work overtime
Must use a hard hat, safety glasses, work boots, safety vests and gloves
