About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Search for story opportunities and industry trends and place stories in the media
  • Conduct media outreach focused on higher-value media targets
  • Direct junior staff
  • Write press releases, blog posts, media queries, bylines, and social media posts
  • Edit content to align with campaign strategic messaging and meet compliance requirements
  • Brief clients on anticipated interview and appearance topics and themes
  • Prepare talking points for Vice President approval and timely client distribution
  • Support Vice President in onboarding new clients
  • Implement scopes of work, create messaging matrices, and identify short- and long-term campaign goals
  • Engage and communicate with clients via email, phone, video conference, and in person
  • Address client concerns and issues and recalibrate client expectations
  • Attend, participate in, and lead client calls and briefings
  • Provide strategic input, analysis, feedback, updates, and status reports on client calls
  • Stay current on client-industry issues, processes, terms, products, and regulations through relevant media, blogs, and social feeds
  • Master increasingly sophisticated issues affecting clients’ businesses and industries

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • An undergraduate degree in communications, public relations, journalism, English, or a similar major
  • Four to seven years PR experience
  • Passion for media relations
  • Understanding of AI and how it can support work
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work with junior and senior team members
  • Client service orientation
  • Adaptability to changing work demands and priorities
  • Detail-oriented
  • Self-starter with a positive attitude
  • Organized and effective multitasker
  • Proficiency in Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, and operational and productivity tools
  • Must be in commuting distance to one of the offices in the Philadelphia area, NYC, or Boston
