About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Manage the operational procurement of goods and services for assigned vessels
  • Clarify requirements, technical specifications, and priorities with vessels and superintendents
  • Request quotations, compare and renegotiate prices, quality, and availability
  • Create purchase orders in the ERP system and monitor delivery dates and outstanding items
  • Organize international deliveries to vessels and coordinate shipping, documentation, and handover dates
  • Work with suppliers and internal stakeholders to find solutions for changes, delivery issues, and complaints
  • Maintain supplier and product category data
  • Fully document procurement processes
  • Liaise with crew members, technical superintendents, suppliers, and the purchasing team

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Commercial or business administration training, or a comparable qualification
  • Several years of experience in operational procurement
  • Technical understanding
  • Experience with price negotiations, international freight shipping, customs procedures, and complaint handling
  • Excellent communication skills in German and English
  • Independent and flexible working style
  • Experience in the maritime industry is an advantage
  • Experience in technical procurement involving international, time-critical deliveries is an advantage
