Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Educated and currently certified/licensed in the state of employment and according to state requirements as an Emergency Medical Technician, Paramedic, Licensed Practical Nurse, or Licensed Vocational Nurse
  • Current CPR certification required
  • Ability to stand and sit for up to 2 to 4 hours per day each
  • Ability to bend and twist the neck for 1 to 2 hours per day
  • Frequent hand movement and ability to make fast, simple movements of the fingers, hands, and wrists
  • Ability to make precise coordinated finger movements to grasp and manipulate objects
  • Frequent foot movement; may squat, crouch, or sit on one's heels on rare occasion
  • Ability to lift 15 lbs. routinely and up to 50 lbs. maximum
  • Hearing acuity essential
  • Correctable near vision and far vision requirements; color perception/discrimination
  • Ability to communicate and understand spoken information
  • Ability to work independently and follow oral or written instructions
  • Ability to perform varied tasks under changing conditions
  • Ability to relate sensitive information to diverse groups
  • Ability to work around biological fluids and potentially infectious organisms
  • Ability to work with electrical office and laboratory equipment
  • Ability to work in extreme cold below 32 degrees F in plasma freezers
  • Ability to use required personal protective equipment
