About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Maintain, repair, install, and upgrade automated equipment and systems in a pharmaceutical/biomedical environment
  • Determine corrective actions in response to equipment trouble calls
  • Communicate equipment-system status and maintenance completion timeframes to manufacturing, engineering, quality assurance, and maintenance departments
  • Perform scheduled and unplanned work on electrical, electromechanical, controller, and PLC-based equipment and systems
  • Support upgrades and new engineering/maintenance projects
  • Correct or report equipment malfunctions and unsafe operational practices
  • Disassemble and repair electronic/instrumentation equipment
  • Ensure equipment and environment are safe and compliant with relevant laws, codes, and policies
  • Perform equipment changeovers and sanitation activities
  • Work independently or as a team member on short- and long-term projects
  • Inspect and perform preventive maintenance on process control instrumentation

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Associate degree in a relevant technical field preferred
  • Minimum 2 years of related hands-on experience in maintenance of manufacturing/production equipment, preferably in a pharmaceutical, GMP, or FDA regulated environment
  • Basic knowledge and maintenance experience in robotics, PLCs, PLC networks, drives, motor controls, sensors, automation components, control instrumentation, proportional valves, servo controls, SCADA, HMI, and related systems
  • Basic troubleshooting based on electrical drawings and PLC program documentation
  • Ability to interpret basic electrical codes to help meet compliance, legal, and safety requirements
  • Basic knowledge and experience using hand tools, personal safety equipment, and electronic measurement tools including AVO meter, Meggar, circuit tracer, and signal generator
  • Ability to handle basic power tools and shop equipment
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
  • Ability to work rotating shifts in a manufacturing environment or warehouse
  • Ability to operate forklifts, tractors, and power equipment
  • Ability to lift and carry 45 lbs. for up to 6–8 hours per day, with a maximum lift of 75 lbs.
  • Ability to use required personal protective equipment
  • Hearing acuity, color perception/discrimination, depth perception, and correctable far vision as specified
  • Ability to perform standing, walking, bending, twisting, climbing, kneeling, crawling, squatting, and work at heights or in confined spaces
  • Ability to adhere to a work schedule meeting production standards
