About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Isolate IgG by processing plasma intermediate paste in a GMP environment
- Perform housekeeping and clean, sanitize, assemble, and disassemble production equipment
- Prepare process solutions and dispense cleaning/sanitization reagents
- Safeguard facilities, equipment, product, and coworkers
- Operate filters, vessels, skids, columns, bulk tanks, fork trucks, CIP circuits, DCS, and Unicorn control systems
- Monitor and control manufacturing processes
- Perform real-time production documentation and maintain records/logs
- Perform sterile-filter integrity tests
- Prepare filter aid, install filters, set up transfer panels, unload bulk chemical tankers, and monitor chemical loops
- Receive and stage paste, calibrate tank pH and conductivity probes, and harvest filter cake
- Prepare, test, sample, oscillate, formulate, deliver, and sterilize sterile bulks
- Assist with chromatography column regeneration, evaluation testing, loading, and packing
- Clean and test UF/DF systems and install UF cassettes
- Perform GMP and safety audits of the process area at Technician II level
- Troubleshoot and identify production-process and equipment problems at Technician II level
Requirements
What you’ll need- High School diploma OR GED required
- Basic math skills
- Basic computer skills
- Mechanical aptitude
- Detail oriented
- Ability to work in a team environment and exercise good judgment
- Minimum of 12 months as a Technician in the respective department before consideration for advancement to IGIV-C Technician II
- Minimum of a meets expectations overall rating on the most recent performance review for advancement to Technician II
- Demonstrated competence to perform independently in at least one listed Process Area and proficiency in at least two Process Areas before advancement to Technician II
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Ability to stand/walk continuously during the shift and work rotating shifts
- Required hepatitis B vaccination due to exposure to plasma fractions
- Ability to work around biological fluids, infectious organisms, chemicals, electrical manufacturing equipment, moving machinery, noise, dust/gas/fumes/steam, and extreme cold
- Ability to occasionally enter confined spaces and perform kneeling, crawling, climbing, and squatting
- Ability to work at heights on scaffolding and/or ladders
- Ability to wear required personal protective equipment, including protective eyewear, chemical suits, safety shoes and/or rubber footwear, gloves, hearing protection, and a respirator
- Hearing acuity essential
- Color perception/discrimination and specified correctable far vision
- Ability to communicate and understand information presented through spoken and written words
- Ability to follow written or oral instructions/procedures
