Key responsibilities & impact
  • Isolate IgG by processing plasma intermediate paste in a GMP environment
  • Clean and maintain the workplace
  • Clean, assemble and disassemble operating equipment according to applicable procedures
  • Assist with process control manipulations
  • Maintain production records and logs
  • Perform general housekeeping in compliance with pharmaceutical-operation standards
  • Prepare process solutions and dispense cleaning and sanitization reagents
  • Safeguard facilities, equipment, product and coworkers through safe work practices
  • Operate filters, vessels, skids, columns, bulk tanks and other production equipment
  • Operate a forklift safely and efficiently
  • Operate CIP circuits
  • Monitor and control processes using DCS
  • Perform real-time production documentation
  • Perform sterile-filter integrity tests
  • Prepare filter aid, install filters, set up transfer panels and unload bulk chemical delivery tankers
  • Receive and stage paste, calibrate tank pH probes, prepare equipment and harvest filter cake
  • Prepare, test, sample, sterilize and deliver sterile bulks
  • Assist with column regeneration, evaluation testing, packing, and UF/DF system cleaning and testing
  • Use DCS and Unicorn control systems
  • For Technician II: perform GMP and safety audits, troubleshoot production processes and equipment, and operate equipment to required standards

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High School diploma OR GED required
  • Basic math skills
  • Basic computer skills
  • Mechanical aptitude
  • Detail oriented
  • Ability to work in a team environment and exercise good judgment
  • For Technician II consideration, typically a minimum of 12 months as a Technician in the respective department
  • For Technician II consideration, minimum of a meets expectations overall rating on the most recent performance review
  • Demonstrated competence to work independently in at least one listed Process Area and proficiency in at least two Process Areas before consideration for Technician II
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to stand/walk continuously during the shift and work rotating shifts
  • Required vaccination for hepatitis B due to exposure to plasma fractions
  • Ability to work around biological fluids, chemicals, electrical manufacturing equipment, moving machinery, noise, dust/gas/fumes/steam, extreme cold, confined spaces, heights, scaffolding and ladders
  • Hearing acuity essential
  • Color perception/discrimination, and far vision correctable in one eye to 20/30 and the other eye to 20/100
  • Ability to communicate and understand information presented through spoken and written words
  • Ability to follow written or oral instructions and procedures
  • Frequent movement and precise coordinated use of fingers, hands and wrists
  • Ability to perform required kneeling, crawling, climbing, squatting, bending and twisting
