About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Oversee the New York, NY territory
- Plan, develop, and manage long-term relationships with target customer management teams
- Develop commercial initiatives to achieve or exceed sales targets
- Develop strategies and plans identifying opportunities in a direct-selling market
- Call on hospitals to achieve annual sales targets and ensure customer satisfaction through selling immunohematology instruments and reagents
- Build strategic customer relationships across local, regional, and national levels within IDNs/HealthSystems
- Identify account priorities and translate hospital and regional IDN interactions into business strategies
- Work with field teams to develop strategies meeting customer priorities and long-term partnership goals
- Assess customer needs, market trends, industry challenges, major players, products, and technologies
- Bring portfolio products, services, solutions, and expertise to accounts
- Coordinate resources to communicate, deliver, and reinforce the customer value proposition
- Develop account plans, forecasts, and operating calendars
- Drive revenue, profit, and account profitability for the assigned territory
- Identify new opportunities for future strategic and operational sales
- Manage budget allocation, strategic planning, travel expenses, accounts receivable aging, sales reports, contract compliance, customer inventory levels, monthly sales/accrual forecasts, sales pipeline, and forecast-to-close accuracy
- Achieve annual sales and operating income objectives within the product portfolio
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree required
- 5 or more years of documented success selling laboratory capital equipment within acute care hospital settings and IDNs
- Sales success evidenced by stack rankings, awards, and commendations
- Prior knowledge of accounts in and around the defined territory
- Hunter mentality and experience working in a commission-oriented environment
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Ability to work well within a team and independently
- Ability to manage sales pipeline and budgets
- Laboratory/diagnostics experience preferred
- Directly related experience or a combination of directly related education and experience and/or competencies may be considered in place of stated requirements
