Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Educated and currently certified/licensed in the state of employment and according to state requirements as an EMT-Basic, EMT-Advanced, Paramedic, Registered Nurse, Licensed Practical Nurse or Licensed Vocational Nurse
  • Current CPR certification required
  • Work is performed both standing and sitting for up to 2 to 4 hours per day each
  • Position requires bending and twisting of neck for 1 to 2 hours per day
  • Frequent hand movement and ability to make fast, simple movements of fingers, hands and wrists
  • Ability to make precise coordinated finger movements to grasp and manipulate objects
  • Frequent foot movement; may squat, crouch or sit on heels on rare occasion
  • Ability to lift 15 lbs., with a maximum lift of 50 lbs.
  • Hearing acuity essential
  • Color perception/discrimination and near and far vision correctable to specified levels
  • Ability to communicate and understand information presented through spoken words and sentences
  • Ability to work independently and follow oral or written instructions
  • Ability to perform a wide range of tasks under variable demands and changing conditions
  • Ability to relate sensitive information to diverse groups
  • Ability to work in a plasma center
  • Ability to work with potential exposure to biological fluids, infectious organisms, electrical office/laboratory equipment, and extreme cold below 32°F
