About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Oversee day-to-day operational performance of a plasma collection center
  • Ensure donor safety, regulatory compliance, production goals, quality standards, and profitability
  • Act on behalf of the Center Manager when absent and manage the center independently for periods of time
  • Collaborate with Training and Quality staff to meet training and quality goals
  • Coach and lead employees through Operations Supervisors
  • Monitor and evaluate operations and develop, implement, and modify action plans to maximize efficiency
  • Manage personnel functions, including hiring, work assignment, development, training, discipline, termination, and personnel records
  • Partner with the Center Manager on budget preparation and oversee facility performance against production and quality targets
  • Delegate, monitor, and hold Operations Supervisors accountable
  • Direct and supervise employees and create and manage work schedules
  • Maintain the ability to perform all center tasks and occasionally fulfill production employee duties
  • Maintain facility cleanliness and equipment condition
  • Oversee freezer management, plasma shipments, and equipment failures; respond to freezer alarms
  • Develop and implement donor recruitment advertising campaigns
  • Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations, FDA-approved SOPs, OSHA, CLIA, and cGMP
  • Direct donor selection, plasma collection, and manufacturing records
  • Build donor rapport and support long-term donation
  • Control donor funds and ensure accurate financial records
  • Report center irregularities and implement corrective actions
  • Conduct risk management reviews and investigate unsafe situations and complaints
  • Direct and monitor outside vendors
  • Review and monitor special projects
  • Help implement the donor center’s mission in the community

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, preferably in Science, Business, Nursing, Finance, or related field
  • Typically requires 3+ years of related experience in clinical or general business experience
  • Ability to understand and assess FDA regulations
  • Ability to maintain adequate levels of plasma collection and adhere to quality standards
  • Ability to motivate staff to achieve established goals and standards
  • Developing command of leadership, organizational, customer service, interpersonal communication, and computer abilities
  • May be required to relocate
  • Ability to work in an office and/or laboratory/manufacturing environment
  • Ability to work around biological fluids, infectious organisms, extreme cold, production chemicals, moving machinery, and high noise levels
  • Ability to use required personal protective equipment
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 35 lbs
  • Ability to frequently drive to site locations with occasional travel within the United States
