About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Perform any or all tasks within the plasma center
  • Fulfill production employee duties and supervise donor flow
  • Supervise donor selection, plasma collection, and manufacturing records
  • Maintain compliance with state and federal regulations, FDA-approved SOPs, OSHA, CLIA, cGMP, and company procedures
  • Attend required training sessions and staff meetings
  • Ensure accurate and thorough documentation
  • Maintain facility cleanliness and equipment condition under Center Manager or Assistant Manager guidance
  • Submit timely and accurate reports
  • Assist with control of center donor funds
  • Train new employees and retrain current employees
  • Communicate with other service areas to ensure documentation accuracy and quality
  • Build rapport with donors to support customer satisfaction and long-term donation
  • Report unsafe situations or conditions
  • May repair plasma center equipment after training
  • Assist management with tasks supporting company objectives

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Certified as a Phlebotomist, Donor Processor, Plasma Processor, and Designated Trainer
  • Typically requires 4 years of related experience performing phlebotomy, donor processing, and plasma processing duties
  • Demonstrated proficiency in handling difficult situations
  • Ability to comply with state and federal regulations, FDA-approved SOPs, OSHA, CLIA, cGMP, and internal procedures
  • Ability to work with biological fluids, infectious organisms, electrical and laboratory equipment, and plasma freezers below 32°F
  • Ability to use required personal protective equipment
  • Ability to stand 4–6 hours per day and sit 1–2 hours per day
  • Ability to bend, twist, squat, crouch, perform frequent hand and foot movements, and lift 15 lbs regularly up to 50 lbs maximum
  • Hearing acuity essential
  • Correctable near and far vision and color perception/discrimination
  • Ability to communicate, listen to, and understand information
  • Ability to work independently and follow oral or written instructions
  • Ability to perform varied tasks under changing conditions
  • Ability to relate sensitive information to diverse groups
