About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Assist in determining the suitability of donors
  • Establish rapport with donors to ensure overall customer happiness while ensuring donor confidentiality
  • Respond to and assist with handling donor reactions
  • Monitor donors and equipment to ensure donor health and product quality
  • Set up, disconnect, and operate automated plasmapheresis machines
  • Disconnect and dispose of all contaminated disposable equipment
  • Work in a plasma center with exposure to biological fluids, infectious organisms, electrical office and laboratory equipment, and extreme cold in the plasma freezer
  • Use required personal protective equipment, including protective eyewear, garments, gloves, and cold-gear
  • Perform work standing for 6 to 8 hours per day and may walk up to 6 to 8 hours per day
  • Perform bending and twisting of the neck and waist for 1 to 2 hours per day
  • May infrequently squat, crouch, or sit on one's heels and may reach below shoulder height

Requirements

  • Ability to work a flexible schedule

  • Obtains required state licensures or certifications where applicable
  • Ability to comprehend and follow instructions to complete assigned tasks

  • Ability to perform within the guidance of both oral or written instructions
