About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Assist in determining the suitability of donors
  • Establish rapport with donors to ensure customer happiness while maintaining donor confidentiality

  • Monitor donors and equipment to ensure donor health and product quality
  • Set up, disconnect, and operate automated plasmapheresis machines
  • Disconnect and dispose of contaminated disposable equipment
  • Work in a plasma center producing plasma-derived medicines and supporting transfusion medicine

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High School diploma or GED
  • Superior customer service standards
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule
  • Obtains required state licensures or certifications where applicable
  • Exposure to biological fluids with potential exposure to infectious organisms
  • Ability to use personal protective equipment including protective eyewear, garments, gloves and cold-gear
  • Ability to stand for 6 to 8 hours per day
  • Ability to bend and twist neck and waist for 1–2 hours per day
  • Frequent hand movement and ability to make precise coordinated finger, hand and wrist movements
  • Ability to walk up to 6–8 hours per day
  • Ability to lift 15 lbs., with a maximum lift of 50 lbs.
  • Hearing acuity essential
  • Color perception/discrimination; near and far vision correctable in one eye to 20/30 and the other eye to 20/100
  • Ability to comprehend and follow oral and written instructions
  • Ability to listen to and understand spoken information
  • Ability to relate sensitive information to diverse groups
