About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Assist in determining donor suitability
- Establish rapport with donors to ensure customer happiness and donor confidentiality
- Respond to and assist with handling donor reactions
- Monitor donors and equipment to ensure donor health and product quality
- Set up, disconnect, and operate automated plasmapheresis machines
- Disconnect and dispose of contaminated disposable equipment
- Work in a plasma center with potential exposure to biological fluids, infectious organisms, electrical equipment, and extreme cold below 32°F
- Use required personal protective equipment, including protective eyewear, garments, gloves, and cold gear
Requirements
What you’ll need- High School diploma or GED
- Superior customer service standards
- Ability to work a flexible schedule
- Interest in making a difference in the world
- Obtain required state licensures or certifications where applicable
- Ability to work standing for 6 to 8 hours per day
- Ability to bend and twist the neck and waist for 1–2 hours per day
- Frequent hand movement and precise coordinated finger, hand, and wrist movements
- Frequent foot movement; ability to squat, crouch, or sit on heels infrequently
- Ability to walk up to 6–8 hours per day
- Ability to lift 15 pounds, with a maximum lift of 50 pounds
- Ability to reach below shoulder height
- Essential hearing acuity
- Color perception/discrimination and correctable near and far vision
- Ability to comprehend and follow oral and written instructions
- Ability to listen to and understand spoken information
- Ability to relate sensitive information to diverse groups
